It's really quite a shame that I don't spend more time here. I love this place. It provides me with a chance to let my hair down and just "BE".
It's race weekend in Indianapolis - The Racing Capital of the World. Our home isn't too far from the track and if the wind is blowing in the right direction, we can hear the cars zooming around the track. It's amazing how far sound travels.
The energy is much different around the city. There are a lot of "rowdies" who attend the Indy 500 and there's definitely a party spirit in the air. There's also the energy of money, excitement, adrenaline.
You know, there's a lot of money associated with racing. My husband is involved in motorsports and I've had the pleasure of seeing how things work from the inside. I am always amazed at the amount of money that is invested in racing.
Right now I feel like I'm in a race. A race against time. Have you ever felt like that? There's always so much to do and so little time.
Since my last entry, we've re-visted the IRS. I spent nearly two weeks going over every single deduction and providing documentation to prove my case. My hard work paid off and they are now allowing the deductions. No more $30,000 tax bill. Can you say R-E-L-I-E-F.
There's been little communication with the mortgage company. I received a letter stating they would "try" to respond to my request, but to date I have heard nothing. I sent a second letter, requesting a lesser amount for the pay-off and included the letters I have filed with various government agencies. I fully expect that we will be able to come to an agreement on this and have been on a quest for the perfect house.
My good friend, Linda Miller, provided the following affirmation. I just love it!
I now give thanks that the perfect house
in the perfect location
has been provided to me quickly
under grace,
and in the most unexpected and miraculous ways!
This is the kind of stuff that helps me get through the day with ease.
I finally got rid of that stupid Trojan horse that kept reloading itself on my hard drive, day after day. You would not believe all that I went through to eliminate this thing. I finally found a nifty (and free) program that not only located it and eliminated it from my life, but also found several others. Want to know what it is? It's called Spy Sweeper and you can download a free copy by clicking here. What a lifesaver that was!
Our internet service has been messing up for nearly two weeks. A technican came out today and discovered we had a bad cable in the garage. The modem wasn't getting enough juice, so it couldn't do it's job. Kind of like us humans when we don't get the proper nutrition. Anyway, it works like a charm now and I feel reconnected *wink*.
And last, but not least, I've experienced two other life lessons this week. Yesterday I deleted my entire online store. Yes, that's right, just wiped it out. I'm still in a learning curve and things had gotten out of control, so I decided that this was one of those times when it would be best to just start over. Seems like I've been doing that a lot lately.
Today, my entire website got wiped out. From the looks of things the hosting service's server has gone down. I was in the process of giving it a major face-lift and had spent several hours, when bam... I lost my connection and everything was gone.
The thing is, I've been saying for months that I'm going to learn how to use FrontPage and change hosting services. I've never been all that happy with my current provider, but their service is convenient. Problem is, half the time it doesn't work and when it does, it's very, very slow. So the time has come for me to learn another new skill.
I'll admit it, I was a little stressed out about all of this. But, I realized that there are many things I cannot change, other than the way I react to the situation. Everything happens for a reason and it has been my experience that it always turns out for the best. Unless you freak and lose your mind. When you do that, you get in your own way and block the flow of better things to come.
I thank you for hanging out with me. Feel free to leave your comments. Has anything here helped you? Do you think I'm nuts? Do you like or dislike the way I write? I'd like to know more about you and why you're here, so tell me what you think. Okay?
In Light and Love,
The Spiritual Peacemaker
